What Does a Pap Result Mean?
A Pap smear can have a normal or an abnormal result. A normal Pap smear result means the cells which are collected from your cervix by the doctor are having no signs of cancer or any precancerous changes. An abnormal Pap result also does not necessarily mean that the woman is having cervical cancer. However, the result may come out abnormal because there is any presence of abnormal cells, infection or precancerous changes.
